It turns out Panasonic do have instructions for changing the battery on their website but the PDF is in spanish:

jonfklein : You don't need to remove the torx screw to replace the batteries.
Also, I have a manual for the original EW1211 in 18 languages including English. I don't mind uploading it somewhere if somebody needs it.

brunelle : Wenn ich bis 3x auffüllen muss für eine Anwendung ist das schon lästig ... allerdings hat man dann immer frisches Wasser.
SirReGa : Ich habe das Teil im April 2018 gekauft und im Dezember eine neue angefordert, da die Mundusche sich selbstständig angeschltet hat. Heute, im August 2019 ist auch diese wieder ausgefallen - Pumpe versagt. Also werde ich morgen anrufen und eine dritte ordern - soviel zur Wertigkeit.
